The message means what it says: the amount you are sending plus the network's fee is more than the balance that pays it.
Two different situations produce it.
You are sending the chain's own coin. Leave room for the fee. Sending "everything" has to mean everything minus the fee, and the app subtracts it for you when you use the max control rather than typing a round number.
You are sending a token and hold no coin on that chain. The token is fine; there is simply nothing there to pay with. USDC on a chain with no ether cannot move on its own.
Getting the coin
- Swap something you already hold on that chain — Smartable has a route that pays for itself out of the trade for exactly this case.
- Send a small amount of the chain's coin from another wallet or an exchange.
- Buy it with a card where the chain is supported.
Fees rise and fall with congestion. A transfer refused now can succeed an hour later without you doing anything.
