I lost my recovery phrase

There is nothing we can do, and that is not a policy — the phrase never reaches us. If the wallet still opens on your phone, write the phrase down now, before anything else.

Smartable has no account and no server copy of your keys. Nobody at Smartable can reset, recover or email you a phrase, because there is nothing on our side to read. Any person or site that offers to restore it for you is stealing it.

What matters now is whether the wallet still opens.

If the app still opens

You are not locked out yet, and you have one job.

  1. 01Open Settings and find the backup section.
  2. 02Unlock, write the twelve words on paper, in order, by hand.
  3. 03Let the app verify them. A backup you have not tested is a hope, not a backup.
  4. 04Only then consider a split backup, so one lost piece of paper cannot do this again.

Do not photograph the words, do not screenshot them, do not paste them into notes, mail or a password manager you also unlock with the same phone.

If the app no longer opens

Check for the things that are not the phrase itself: a SLIP-39 share you wrote on a second sheet, a share you saved to Google Drive, MEGA or Backblaze B2 when you set the wallet up, or a second device where the wallet is still installed and unlocked.

If none of those exist, the funds are unreachable. That is the cost of self-custody, and it is the same cost that makes the wallet impossible to freeze or seize.

One rule

Support will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key or password, and never messages you first. Anyone who does is not us — whatever address, avatar or logo they use.
