Moving to a new phone, or reinstalling the app

Install Smartable, choose to import, and enter your recovery phrase. Nothing else transfers, and nothing else needs to.

Your funds are on the chains, not in the app. The app holds keys derived from your recovery phrase, so a fresh install with the same phrase reproduces the same accounts, the same addresses and the same balances.

The order that matters

  1. 01On the old phone, confirm you can read your recovery phrase — from paper, or from your shares.
  2. 02Install Smartable on the new phone and choose to import an existing wallet.
  3. 03Enter the phrase, and the passphrase if you use one.
  4. 04Check that the first address matches what you saw before, then move funds nowhere. There is nothing to move.
  5. 05Only when the new phone is working, delete the wallet from the old one.

What does not come across

Anything that lives on the device rather than on a chain: your address book entries, transaction templates, hidden-token choices, custom RPC endpoints and app settings. Watch-only accounts are added again by address in a minute.

Never type your phrase into anything but the app itself, and never on a device somebody else set up.

Still stuck?

The address in our Privacy Policy reaches a person — use it for privacy requests, security reports and anything this page could not answer.

One rule

Support will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key or password, and never messages you first. Anyone who does is not us — whatever address, avatar or logo they use.
